Lori Senecal: Creative and Thought Leader

Lori Senecal, a brilliant and exceptionally talented executive in the advertising industry, was named Global CEO of the creative firm, CP+B in March 2015. From her newly created position at CP+B, she will be managing the coordination of the company’s eight international offices.

Ms. Senecal is highly respected in the industry and earned the respect of her peers through forward-looking vision and leadership that allowed her to achieve significant results for her company. Of particular note and testament on adweek.com to her extraordinary abilities, Ms. Senecal grew the KBS agency where she served as Global Chairman and CEO before her appointment to CP+B, from a 250 person domestic agency, into a 900 person global entity. In addition to the many awards and accomplishments during her career, Ms. Senecal developed and maintained strategic partnerships within the industry, as well as leading global accounts such as Coca-Cola, Nestle, BMW, and more recently, Infiniti.

Further, Ms. Senecal’s achievements in the industry strengthened her resume to including being named one of the Advertising Age’s “Women to Watch” in 2014, and in 2013 was presented with a Quantum Leap award for leadership and innovation at the AWNY Game Changer Awards ceremony on Huffington Post.

In 2009, Ms. Senecal departed McCann-Erickson where she was President, before becoming a partner at Kirshenbaum Bond Senecal & Partners. Her departure dealt a blow to the stability of leadership at McCann’s flagship U.S. office, according to Rupal Parekh in an article published August 18, 2009, on the website, adage.com.

It comes as no surprise that Ms. Senecal was the top candidate for the position at KBS, although the position came up rather unexpectedly as the result of a meeting with company executives. Ms. Senecal’s experience and creative leadership fit in perfectly with the company’s goals and initiatives.

During her tenure at KBS, Ms. Lori Senecal did not disappoint. She demonstrated once again her tenacity for inspiring employees to invent for themselves new paths in their careers. This approach, she believes, creates true invention that leads to a real competitive advantage for brands. From the interview, it is apparent that Ms. Lori Senecal believes in great talent, invention, and technology. She states, too, that no one can wait for opportunity to come to them. Instead, they must create their own. She says, “If an opportunity doesn’t exist within your organization, find a way to invent it.”
